Stemming from the requirements of the Ministry of Defense and the Navy, Saigon Military Port needs a force of National Defense pilots to lead modern military ships of the Navy, ships of the International, and navies of other countries. to Vietnam; and from the business requirements of Saigon Newport Corporation – a separate pilot unit is required to take the initiative in operating.
On October 27, 2008, the Minister of National Defense issued Decision No. 3475/QD-BQP to establish Tan Cang Pilot Company Limited, under the Saigon Newport Corporation (TCT TCSG).
In 2020, the Party Committee of Tan Cang Pilot Company was united, creative, flexible, upholding leadership responsibility, directing the completion of all aspects of work, notably: Successfully completing the pilot task guide military ships; actively train and prepare the plan to lead ships according to the fleet of ships of the ASEAN Navy, contributing to the good work of foreign affairs and defense; well perform the rescue, rescue and prevention of natural disasters and epidemics; ensure seaport security and unit safety.
